Day 1/ Mmmmm......Smoothies

I forgot to say in my previous post that I actually tried out my very first professionally prepared raw meal on my precleanse day (Join The Lifeit Detox 28 Days Raw Food Cleanse)...I ordered "Soft-Shell Tacos" made out of living foods from one of the vegetarian cafes in my area.

My overall rating: B+. The taco shells were made in a dehydrator from fresh corn and herbs. I guess they took the shells out early so they wouldn't be too dry. They were tasty.

The "meat" was made of raw nuts, flax seed, and spices...I'm not sure what the other ingredients were. The texture was right, but there was a slight bitter aftertaste that I didn't like. That was the only thing that kept the meal from being an A+.

The tacos came with a side salad and I ordered living honey mustard dressing with it. The dressing surprised me...it had a lemony taste to it that was actually quite nice, and it was sweet.

So on Day 1 I made my first smoothie with the new blender. I substituted soy milk for the filtered water, and I added frozen pieces of mango, pineapple and berries. I topped it off with a few spoons of Agave nectar, and a heaping tablespoon of spirulina (which I later realized was too much). The smoothie was delicious! That's going to be an awesome way to start off my day.

In the evening I made the spinach salad with the sundried tomatoes. To my surprise, this was also delicious! The sundried tomatoes along with the olive oil, sea salt, and italian seasoning were reminiscent of pepperoni.

I also noticed that the congestion in my lungs is starting to loosen up.
